Are you looking for a role that is organized, consistent, and offers a meaningful connection to your community? Keolis is seeking a Part‑Time Dispatcher to support our Comox operations. This position provides 20 hours per week and plays an essential role in ensuring smooth day‑to‑day transit service. Compensation for this position is $21.00‑$23.50 per hour, based on experience

Schedule (Total: 20 hours/week):
  • Tuesday–Friday: 13:00–17:00

  • Saturday: 08:00–12:00

Training:
  • Two weeks, Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30
Knowledge and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous work experience in dispatching, customer service, or transportation operations preferred.

  • Previous administrative or office experience is an asset.

  • Knowledge of Comox Valley and surrounding transit service areas is an advantage.

  • Experience with dispatch software, scheduling systems, or electronic information management is considered an asset.

  • Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.

Key Accountabilities

Vehicle and Operator Assignment & Monitoring

  • Dispatch and monitor vehicles and operators to ensure on‑time service delivery.

  • Ensure assignments comply with National Safety Code requirements, operational schedules, and customer needs.

  • Respond to driver requests for assistance, service updates, or unexpected operational issues.

  • Track driver locations and bus movements using dispatch systems or AVL tools.

Scheduling and Coordination
  • Prepare daily operator work schedules and vehicle assignments within established guidelines.

  • Coordinate relief coverage and communicate last‑minute schedule changes to drivers and supervisors.

  • Communicate with maintenance staff regarding vehicle availability or mechanical concerns.

  • Maintain accurate dispatch logs, daily sheets, incident reports, and administrative records.

Communication and Information Management
  • Provide clear and concise information, instructions, and updates to drivers and operations staff.

  • Relay work orders, messages, and operational changes using dispatch software, radios, phones, or other communication devices.

  • Respond to public inquiries and provide basic customer information when needed.

  • Access and retrieve operational data, such as AVL information, route maps, and daily performance reporting.
