Job summary

Aspira Red Oak Retirement Living in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a full-time Dishwasher to support daily resident meals. You will maintain cleanliness of dishes, kitchen equipment and work areas, ensuring safety and sanitation in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to sanitation standards, and respectful interactions with residents. Eligible candidates also gain exposure to a values-driven workplace with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 minimum education.
• Smart Serve designation and one year experience in dining room service.
• Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
• Safe Food Handling Certification is preferred.
• All applicants must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
• Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery following established sanitation procedures.
• Ensure correct usage of chemicals in dish machine and pot-washing areas, i.e. uses 3-sink method for pot washing.
• Clean kitchen, including mopping entire floor.
• Assume cleaning tasks as per site cleaning schedules.
• Receive, uncrate, and put away supplier deliveries as required.
• Alert team leader to problems and make recommendations about corrective action.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
