Your opportunity

Dillons Highways & Bridges Practice is looking for a Discipline Lead – Structures Transportation to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. You will lead a talented team of engineers and technical experts fostering a culture of innovation and ensuring we remain at the forefront of civil infrastructure design and construction.

Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Innovation
  • Maintain deep technical expertise and stay current with industry trends within Structures Transportation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the Discipline's technical skills.
  • Drive the integration of new technologies to improve internal processes.
  • Deliver significant innovation projects with supporting business case and success metrics.
  • Encourage the use of new solutions and showcase successful efficiency improvements.
People & Team Development
  • Lead and motivate a team of technical professionals fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Support the growth and development of Team Managers.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Project Managers, Business Units and key industry contacts.
Delivery & Operational Excellence
  • Meet or exceed financial targets while ensuring high‑quality service and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement operational standards, best practices and quality control processes to mitigate risk.
  • Proactively identify and manage health and safety risks.
  • Actively solicit and act on client feedback to improve service delivery.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for organic business growth.
Qualifications
  • 15 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer licensed in Canada with extensive experience in civil engineering design and construction.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • A passion for innovation, an aptitude for leveraging technology and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Experience
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of the Canadian Transportation market, including current trends, challenges and opportunities.
  • Strong business development acumen with a successful track record of identifying, pursuing and winning new business opportunities in the market.
  • Experience with various project delivery models (e.g., design‑bid‑build, design‑build).
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
