We're seeking a high-performing Director, Tax to join our Finance leadership team and lead the tax function within our high-growth, multi-jurisdictional private company. You will oversee tax planning, compliance, risk management, transaction support, special projects, and tax accounting.
WHAT YOU'LL DO :
- Manage reporting staff, including selection, coaching, mentoring, development, performance management, and all other people-management practices.
- Develop and oversee execution of domestic and international tax strategies to maximize tax efficiencies, including cross-border treasury operations.
- Ensure all domestic and foreign income tax compliance requirements are met, managing external service providers and advisors.
- Lead global sales tax and VAT compliance and risk management, including automation improvements.
- Manage transfer pricing strategies, including policy development, transaction execution, and documentation.
- Identify and leverage tax incentives across domestic and global operations.
- Build relationships with the business, providing high-level tax support and identifying opportunities and risks.
- Design tax strategies to minimize risk, manage controversies, and build relationships with tax authorities, supporting growth, M&A, and capital movements.
- Develop strategies for tax controversy management domestically and globally.
- Lead cross-border tax planning, minimizing risks related to organic growth, M&A, and capital movements.
- Support corporate initiatives such as due diligence, transactions, reorganizations, and integrations.
- Provide tax support to senior executives and internal teams like People, Finance, and Legal.
- Monitor tax policy changes and international developments, sharing insights and best practices.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED :
- CPA / CA designation, or equivalent, with at least 15 years of relevant experience or advanced education.
- Extensive corporate tax experience in a multinational setting.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian income tax and foreign affiliate rules.
- Understanding of cross-border issues, transfer pricing, and US tax concepts.
- Experience with tax planning, risk management, transactional support, and US GAAP tax accounting.

Pay Range:
- Canada: $140,700—$197,100 CAD
- US: $153,800—$215,400 USD
