Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Strategy & Operations Director to drive Local Markets growth across the US. You will lead cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Product, Finance, and Analytics to deliver new products and service improvements that boost local market performance.

You will build and lead a team, incubate 0-1 experiments, pursue merchant partnerships, and execute roadmaps with an emphasis on data-driven decision making and AI tooling to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in strategy & operations or other operating roles; high-growth startup experience is advantageous.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and hitting goals; comfortable running analysis and manipulating datasets; SQL is required and experience using AI tools (Cursor, Claude) is preferred.
• Ability to translate high-level goals into actionable plans and motivate teams across the organization.
• Strong detail-orientation and aptitude for building roadmaps and partnerships.

About the Team

Our US Marketplace team is responsible for growing the DoorDash business in the US, helping customers to discover & order what’s best in their city, merchants to grow their sales, and dashers to find flexible work.

About the Role

The US Marketplace team is looking for a motivated and hands-on operator to be the Director of Local Markets. As a Strategy & Operations Director, you’ll be responsible for driving marketplace growth in every U.S. market, across a variety of market types.

You will report into the Growth and Markets team, leading cross-functional collaboration between DoorDash’s marketing, sales, product, finance, and analytics teams to deliver new products and service level improvements to drive local market growth. You’ll have the opportunity to help define new ways to grow locally, incubate 0-1 experiments, scope partnership opportunities, foster relationships with external partners, and execute on a roadmap to grow the marketplace at the local level.

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

• For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
• For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.

$197,200—$290,000 USD
