Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the development and oversight of the leaders and team members accountable for sales in the markets in South and South-Western Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Fort McMurray, AB. This will include both increasing share of wallet with existing customers and acquiring new customers.

The role will be accountable for driving speed to revenue and productivity improvements and will work very closely with the other members of the GCAN leadership team to ensure that the company achieves its targets. The Director’s success is measured by profitable sales growth. This role must lead with enterprise thinking and drive collaboration with all functions.

This is a remote position based in Ontario. Preference will be given to candidates located in the Greater Toronto Area.

Job Responsibilities (You Will)

The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and grow a motivated and skilled team of sales leaders, capable of aggressively targeting and growing market share to achieve sales goals
  • Maintain a professional selling culture and process including sales pipelines, coverage, productivity prospecting, and growing existing customers
  • Leads the professional development of sales leaders, ongoing development of future leaders and strong contributors through the use of Performance Excellence and succession planning initiatives
  • Lead and ensure implementation of actions plans to drive continuous improvement in team member engagement
  • Provides guidance as required regarding pricing for specific customer quotes
  • Leads the sales budgeting process within sales region
  • Maintain strong communication and effective cross functional partnership across GCAN and primarily with Customer Service, Field Operations, and the larger Sales and Sales Support Teams
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the market and GCAN’s strategy, including trends, business processes, financial/performance indicators, as well as key competitors in the market
  • Overnight travel required
Education/Experience (You Have)
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience with a degree in business administration or related discipline combined with relevant management experience
  • High degree of organization, planning and multi-tasking skills. Proven presentation and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills to attract, develop and retain superior talent and build high performance team
  • Prior experience leading and developing leaders in a geographically dispersed team is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to successfully navigate and improve sales performance in a multi-channel environment, must understand B2B and have experience in it
  • Must be a change agent with capability to influence and lead a team through rapid change and growth
  • High energy with flexibility to perform under short time constraints to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional self-starter, both team oriented and able to work autonomously
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Salesforce

This role may require you to attend customers’ sites and adhere to safety requirements in accordance with applicable health and safety legislation, as it relates to wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) on certain customer sites. This may include: a hard hat; steel-toed safety boots, clean shaven or trimmed moustache/beard in order to wear a close-fitted N95 mask or other required PPE. Details of these requirements will be provided during the recruitment process.

Some customers may have alcohol and drug screening policies for on-site contractors and vendors. You may be required to submit to such customer screening procedures as and when requested as a condition of being permitted on such sites.
