Purpose
The Director, Internal Controls Reporting and Analytics leads and oversees centralized GBM Internal Control Reporting and Risk Analytics team to ensure business strategy, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:

  1. Lead and oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of GBM Internal Control metrics, key risk and performance indicators, including data visualization and standardized reporting, globally, for GBM Internal Control, GBM senior management and executive committees, and Bank committees.
  2. Coordinate and oversee the drafting and aggregation of committee or forum reporting, including escalating issues and highlighting areas of interest that directly to impact GBM Executives prior to committee meeting.
  3. Lead and oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of performance oversight for GBM or GBM Internal execution of non-financial risk programs (for example: RCSA, CRCA, Issues Management, Operational Risk Events).
  4. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, including leading reviews, providing recommendations and annually updating and reporting of the GBM Risk Appetite Framework, Statement and risk appetite limits.
  5. Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  6. Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  7. Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
  8. Coordinating and ensuring completion of ad-hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Other duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time.

What You'll Bring:

  1. At least ten years’ experience in a non-financial risk management role.
  2. In-depth knowledge of capital markets business, an asset.
  3. Expert knowledge of non-financial risk management.
  4. Knowledge and experience in using or overseeing database, business intelligence software, data analysis and visualization for reporting.
  5. Strong written and verbal communications and inter-personal skills with senior or executive management.
  6. Proficiency in at least one computer language, for example: Python/C++/SQL.

Work Arrangement:
This position is currently a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will work at least 3 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
