Job summary

A First Nation organization located in Moose Factory, Ontario, is seeking a Director of Youth Services. This permanent position involves programming and operations management for the John R. Delaney Youth Centre, alongside facility management responsibilities. Job description

Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director at Moose Cree First Nation, the Director of Youth Services will be responsible for programming, coordination, and operations management for the John R. Delaney Youth Centre and for all facility management duties relating to the JRDYC building and site.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, or Facility Management and/or relevant work experience with a minimum of 3 years of management experience required.
  • Knowledgeable in health and safety regulations and responsibilities as a supervisor
  • Experience and knowledge of financial management/budgets
  • A good general understanding of northern First Nations’ issues, culture, history and economic and social conditions
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English, along with appropriate computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with others
  • Supervisory skills
  • Excellent skills in proposal writing and conducting presentations
  • Previous experience in facility management, and a good understanding of facility management requirements (building, fire, safety regulations, and other areas)
  • Knowledgeable in health and safety regulations and responsibilities as a supervisor
  • Experience and knowledge of financial management/budgets
  • Experience working with youth and youth programming
  • Experience in developing training programs for youth
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in a management-level role
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License with clear Drivers Abstract required.
  • Provide copies of Diploma’s and Certificates
  • Must submit a current satisfactory C.P.I.C. with vulnerable sector check or proof of application with resume

Duration: Permanent with 3 months probation
