The Director of Sales & Marketing plays a key leadership role within Hotel Arts Group, responsible for driving revenue, shaping the brand story, and inspiring a team to deliver exceptional results. This strategic and hands-on leader oversees all sales, marketing, and communications initiatives for both Hotel Arts and Hotel Arts Kensington.

With a strong grasp of market trends, digital strategies, and relationship-driven selling, the Director of Sales & Marketing will elevate the group’s profile, optimize business mix across segments, and ensure alignment with the company’s creative, guest-focused values.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute an integrated sales and marketing strategy to achieve revenue, occupancy, and profitability goals across all business segments (corporate, leisure, group, catering, and F&B)
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing sales and marketing team, fostering creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with corporate partners, travel industry professionals, event planners, and community stakeholders
  • Lead proactive and reactive sales efforts including prospecting, proposal development, and contract negotiation for group, corporate, social, and event business
  • Oversee RFP submissions and participation in preferred partner programs
  • Oversee brand positioning and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms—digital, print, PR, and on-property communications
  • Direct digital marketing initiatives, including website optimization, SEO, social media strategy, and paid media campaigns
  • Oversee marketing material development, from digital assets and collateral to photoshoots, signage, and campaigns that elevate brand storytelling
  • Collaborate with operations, revenue management, and F&B leadership to optimize performance and deliver a cohesive guest experience
  • Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and performance reports, ensuring data-driven decision making
  • Represent Hotel Arts Group at key trade shows, industry events, and media engagements
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in hotel sales, marketing, or related disciplines
  • Proven track record in luxury or lifestyle hospitality, with deep knowledge of the Calgary and Western Canada market preferred
  • Demonstrated success in digital marketing, branding, and revenue growth strategies
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Hospitality Management (or equivalent experience)
