Position Summary

The Director of Sales is the leader of a selling team comprised of Territory/Regional Sales Managers and is accountable for achieving the regional sales and profitability goals. This role provides direction and leadership to the regional field staff while responsible for customer satisfaction and market share within the assigned region.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall planning, goal setting, communication, strategy implementation and coaching that’s focused on delivering budgeted results
  • Demonstrates personal accountability for actions & results, and enforces the same standard within the team
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with direct reports
  • Attracts, retains, and develops talent for assigned sales territories
  • Conduct field ride-alongs with each team member a minimum of once per quarter
  • Provides remote and in the field coaching for performance management
  • Identifies areas of improvement and efficiency gains and coaches their team accordingly
  • Helps to prepare and participates in regional and national sales meetings
  • Responsible for the Region’s forecasting and sales tracking
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop regional sales team
  • Provides quality leadership for internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while always upholding company values, inclusive of constructive problem solving, facilitating creative improvements, and inspiring others
  • Achieves the region’s revenue & profitability quotas for products as they are sold into all customer segments within region
  • Establishes an environment and foundation for future sales growth
  • Sells and teaches others how to sell value and solutions to Festool customers
  • Proactively analyzes sales statistics and prepares reports to assist Territory/Regional Sales Managers and dealers in promoting sales
  • Builds strong relationships with stakeholders of larger dealer accounts within region of responsibility
  • Represents company at trade association meetings and trade shows to promote Festool products
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives
  • Supports sales team with maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, sales activities and rep efficiency & effectiveness
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition
  • Manages effective sales budget for the region
  • Overnight travel expected to be 50-60%
  • Performs other required tasks as assigned

Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of sales, marketing, or similar field

  • Highly motivated, self-driven individual with the ability to work without daily guidance
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft office suite
  • Previous experience using a CRM system
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs
  • Ability to travel both locally and globally, as necessary
