Director of Recruitment

Young Minds Eye (YME) is a not-for-profit aiming to provide free educational services to students who have difficulties accessing resources. Our Organization originally started as our student group Help Young Minds at the University of Alberta. We now focus on establishing our organization on a national scale to serve more youths out there. Currently, our services are mainly in Alberta and British Columbia. At YME, we strive to work together as a team, support each other and push each of our programs forward in order to make an impact on our community. As a Director of Recruitment, you will play a vital role in building and sustaining our volunteer community.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Recruiting volunteer tutors, Talk Buddies facilitators, and volunteers for special events such as fundraisers and mental health initiatives
  • Conducting interviews with all volunteers in collaboration with the Executive Chair
  • Designing innovative outreach strategies to raise awareness of The Young Mind’s Eye across Canada, with a focus on targeted recruitment in specific regions
  • Managing our social media presence and maintaining volunteer opportunity postings
  • Creating engaging promotional materials to support recruitment and program visibility
