Oversee the operation of a manufacturing plant; enforcing safety, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Strategy & Planning: Communicate and translate demand requirements to plant order and coordinate necessary steps in satisfying demand (staffing, ingredient requirements, raw materials etc). Provide input on new and existing product development.
  • Facilitate regular production reviews with plant management, to review targets, develop actions plans and close gaps.
  • Budget Management: Develop and oversee expenses/financials to identify profits and losses, establish benchmarks and recommend action plans to improve production efficiencies.
  • People Development: Coaching, engagement and performance management of team. Identify training/development opportunities, provide feedback and guidance. Ensure team is up to date in technology, product development and legislative requirements.
  • Raw Product Management: Negotiate contracts with growers and develop and communicate standards and specifications.
  • Maintain Safety and Environment: Communicate and promote safety culture, identify gaps and develop initiatives/programs and implementation plans to address. Maintain quality system for the plant, following food specification and standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee and validate budget, forecast and various other reports.
Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary Education in Engineering, Food Science or Business Administration.
  • Must have 15 years of experience in Food Manufacturing.
  • Must have 10 years of People Leadership experience.
