Job description

Intercity Packers Ltd. is seeking a full-time Director of Operations at our Richmond location. Reporting to the General Manager, they will oversee all daily operations of the facility, including warehouse and logistics to ensure policies and procedures are followed.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years in a similar role, with post-high school or specialized training preferred. They must have good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills, as well as problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a resource and servant leader, creating an environment that stimulates achievement and teamwork.
  • Interview, hire, train, and retain management staff, with performance monitoring and disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Mentor, motivate, and develop staff, acting as a role model and resource.
  • Adhere to the mission cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.
  • Ensure accountability and overall performance of divisional initiatives, including customer order shipment, transport, and delivery.
  • Maintain knowledge of the division route growth plan and collaborate with transportation supervisors to maximize warehouse efficiencies.
  • Develop creative plans for operations systems and procedures to improve customer service, safety, efficiency, and employee morale.
  • Ensure training requirements are complete for all warehouse and transportation employees.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Post-high school or specialized training preferred.
  • Good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations and speak at minor functions.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email, and internet software applications.
