Athabasca County is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Infrastructure to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of Athabasca County’s public works, utilities, parks, agricultural services, and other essential facilities within the municipality. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Infrastructure is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team contributing to a positive corporate Culture and facilitating organization wide planning and project delivery.
Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field.
5-10 years of senior-level management experience, preferably in a municipal setting.
Proven leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Demonstrated project management abilities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
In-depth knowledge of infrastructure systems, construction techniques, and relevant regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Council officials, staff, private and community organizations, developers, contractors, and other members of the public encountered in the course of work.
Familiarity with sustainability practices and emerging trends in infrastructure development.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and relevant software tools and technology used in infrastructure planning and development.
Strong understanding of the principals and practices of public administration, including asset management, budgeting, purchasing, maintenance of public records and long-range planning.
Valid Class 5 diver’s license and clear criminal records check.
The salary range for this position is $127,850.65 - $172,298.60
