Job summary

Zafin, an AI platform company enabling regulated institutions to design, govern, and deliver critical work, seeks a Director of FinOps to shape cloud financial management strategy from its Toronto headquarters. You will build a scalable FinOps function delivering cost savings while upholding platform reliability and security.

You will partner with Engineering, Cloud Operations, Product, and Finance to drive cost visibility, governance, and accountable spending decisions across Azure and platform

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud infra, platform ops, or FinOps/FP&A
• Leadership experience in tech environments
• Azure cost drivers and budgeting experience
• Ability to translate cloud decisions into financial impact
• Establish financial governance and reporting

Responsibilities

• Define and lead Zafin’s FinOps strategy, governance, and cloud cost optimization program.
• Deliver measurable cloud savings through resource optimization and cost visibility.
• Lead cloud budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Partner with Engineering, Cloud Operations, Product, and Finance to embed cost-efficient practices.
• Optimize Azure spend across compute, storage, networking, AKS/Kubernetes, Reserved Instances, and observability.
• Establish cost allocation models, tagging standards, and unit economics.
• Implement FinOps tools, dashboards, AI analytics, automation, and anomaly detection.
• Provide executives with reporting on cloud spending and savings.
• Build and mentor a high-performing FinOps team and drive cross-functional collaboration.
