The Position:

The Director of Finance, NA provides leadership and accountability to all financial accounting functions across North America. Working directly North American Eclipse corporate management teams, the Finance Director is responsible for all aspects of the accounting and finance operations including accurate financial reporting in accordance with local generally accepted accounting principles and Eclipse corporate policies; development of business plans and budgets; monitor financial metrics and advise management so profitability goals are achieved; and maintenance of a comprehensive set of internal controls, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and Entrepreneurial Culture.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Oversee all NA accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and controlling
• Design, implement and monitor accounting policies and procedures to produce accurate and timely financial reports to local and Eclipse corporate management
• Monitor cash flow and manage commercial banking relationships to maintain appropriate credit facilities
• Provide strategic recommendations to local and Eclipse corporate management based on contributing financial information and analysis
• Prepare year end working papers and coordinated local annual audit engagement
• Design, implement and monitor cross functional business processes and policies to safeguard assets and strengthen internal controls
• Along with Human Resources evaluate, recommend and implement fringe benefit programs for employees
• Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
• Provide leadership and oversight to the NA accounting team by setting goals; providing training and tools; and managing performance
• Work closely with Eclipse corporate management teams to optimize profitability and meet business objectives
• Act as a primary liaison to local external audit firms, banks, insurance agents, legal counsel, tax authorities and other external agencies
• Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations which support continuous improvement initiatives
• Continuously resource new innovative solutions for corporate competitiveness
• Ensure concepts meet Eclipse Automation quality, safety and reliability standards
• Promote Personal Development and Safe work practices, working environment and improve department operations
• Ensure that Company ISO Standards are followed
• Develop and present to Eclipse corporate management an annual business plan, including strategic objectives and performance targets
• Monitor financial performance of NA compared to business plans, identifying variances, initiating corrective actions and work with local management to ensure performance targets are achieved. Where variances cannot be mitigated locally elevate such issues, together with local management, to Eclipse corporate management
• Present monthly financial reporting package to Eclipse corporate Management identifying significant items and key trends
• Along with local management, present quarterly staff plans to Eclipse corporate management and monitor performance to such approved plans
• Expectation of travel to vendor/supplier locations is less than 20% of time, however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration or relative experience
• A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent
• 10+ years of progressive experience, preferably in the automation or construction industry using percent completion method of accounting on work in process valuation for financial reporting
• Management experience with Financial Planning and Strategy, Managing Profitability, Strategic Planning, Vision, Quality Management, Promoting Process Improvement, Forecasting, Corporate Finance, Developing Business Plans and Budgets, Financial Computer software knowledge, Banking, Dealing with Complexity
