Following a major merger and continued expansion, the organization is evolving its finance function to better support the business, and this hire will play a central role in that transformation.

This is not a maintenance role. The successful candidate will take full ownership of core accounting operations, lead and develop a capable team, and bring structure and clarity to a fast-moving environment. There’s a real opportunity here to modernize systems, improve processes, and contribute directly to the strategic direction of the company. The executive team is looking for someone who brings strong leadership, isn’t afraid to dive into the details when needed, and is motivated by the chance to grow into broader responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of accounting operations including AP, AR, month-end close, and full-cycle reporting
  • Oversee corporate tax, audit, regulatory filings, and debt covenant reporting
  • Own the preparation and delivery of accurate, executive-level financial statements
  • Provide hands-on leadership to a growing team, with a focus on mentoring and developing future leaders
  • Drive operational improvements and build scalable processes in a post-merger environment
  • Champion financial integrity while supporting ambitious growth across the organization
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team, contributing to strategic decisions
  • Play a key role in onboarding and integrating new systems and reporting standards
  • Evaluate and refine team structure to support future scale and complexity
  • Oversee or transition functions such as payroll, based on organizational needs

Requirements:

  • CPA designation required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, ideally with team leadership
  • Expertise in financial reporting, audit, tax, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and elevate team performance
  • Comfort operating in environments that are growing, evolving, or in transition
  • Financial services experience is preferred but not essential—adaptability and leadership are key
  • A proactive mindset with strong communication and critical thinking skills

Remuneration:

Competitive salary in the $170,000 range, plus annual discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits (health, dental, life insurance, long-term disability). The company offers strong growth potential and career advancement for the right candidate.
