A leading lubricant manufacturer in Canada is seeking a Director of Finance to oversee financial operations as the company expands into the U.S. market. This hands-on role involves ensuring financial discipline, managing the accounting team, and partnering closely with senior leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a robust technical accounting background along with proven leadership experience. The position offers competitive compensation, modern workspace in Langley, and opportunities for career growth.
For over 35 years, KLONDIKE Lubricants has challenged the status quo to become one of Canada’s leading independent manufacturers and marketers of high-performance commercial, industrial, and automotive lubricants, greases, and specialty chemicals.
KLONDIKE manages a portfolio of more than 650 SKUs and sells exclusively through a distributor network of over 700 independent distributors across Canada and the United States. These distributors, in turn, serve a wide range of end markets including automotive, heavy-duty on-road and off-road, mining, forestry, agriculture, and industrial applications.
KLONDIKE does not sell directly to end users or mass merchandisers. This disciplined approach has allowed the company to build long-term, trust-based partnerships and consistently deliver profitable growth.
Building on its strong Canadian foundation, KLONDIKE is also in the early stages of expanding its presence in the United States. This growth is intentional and disciplined, following the same distributor-focused model that has driven success in Canada, and represents an important next chapter in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
KLONDIKE’s business model is built around one simple guiding principle: We Grow Independent Business.
This philosophy shapes how the company designs products, sets pricing, manages inventory, delivers service, and partners with distributors. KLONDIKE is positioned just below the global majors on price, while meeting or exceeding required industry specifications and certifications. The company competes on value, trust, availability, and technical credibility — not on being the cheapest option in the market.
Manufacturing and warehousing are fully outsourced to long-term strategic partners, while KLONDIKE invests heavily in inventory across six warehouses. Supply chain reliability and product availability are core competitive advantages and key drivers of distributor loyalty.

KLONDIKE Lubricants is seeking a high caliber Director of Finance to lead and further strengthen the company’s finance function as the business continues to scale in size, complexity, and ambition. This role represents a significant leadership opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who is ready to operate at a senior level today, with a clear runway to take on broader responsibility over time.
The Director of Finance will play a central role in ensuring financial discipline, reliability, and insight across the organization, while remaining deeply involved in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves role for a finance leader who takes ownership, values precision, and understands the importance of strong fundamentals in enabling sustainable growth. The Director of Finance will also be supported by, and work collaboratively with, the Private Equity CFO, providing an additional layer of experience, perspective, and mentorship as the business continues to scale.
You are a hands-on finance leader who takes pride in owning the numbers and understands that credibility is earned by being close to the work. You are comfortable operating at both a strategic and transactional level, and you do not hesitate to roll up your sleeves when accuracy, control, or speed matters.
You bring strong technical accounting capability paired with sound business judgment. You believe that financial leadership starts with disciplined execution; timely closes, reliable reporting, and robust controls, but you also know that the real value of finance lies in enabling better decisions, managing risk, and supporting growth.
You are energized by complexity and change, and you operate effectively in environments where priorities evolve and judgment matters. You ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions constructively, and take ownership of outcomes rather than deferring responsibility.
You operate effectively in complex, evolving environments where priorities shift and judgment matters. You ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions constructively, and take ownership of outcomes rather than deferring responsibility.
You are comfortable partnering closely with the CEO and Leadership Team, providing clear insight and perspective without slowing the organization down. You communicate confidently with external lenders and support Board-level reporting with clarity and professionalism.
You are motivated by the opportunity to support a business expanding beyond Canada into the U.S. market. While grounded in strong Canadian financial fundamentals today, you view geographic expansion as an opportunity to help the business scale thoughtfully and to broaden your own exposure and impact over time.
You are comfortable operating in financially complex, inventory-intensive environments. You understand the nuances of multi-warehouse inventory accounting, high SKU counts, and product costing, and you bring experience managing foreign exchange exposure related to cross-border payables and inventory purchases. You are also comfortable supporting financial consolidation across multiple legal entities, navigating increased scale and cross-border complexity as the business grows.
You thrive in entrepreneurial, growth-oriented businesses and see runway ahead, an opportunity to grow your scope, influence and leadership impact as KLONDIKE continues to scale.
