ReCover helps building owners and communities identify, optimize, and implement deep retrofit solutions to enhance comfort, reduce energy consumption, and lower utility costs. Position Summary

The Director of Finance will play a key role in supporting ReCover’s mission by overseeing and leading the organization’s financial operations. This newly established, senior-level position requires a proactive leader with both strategic financial expertise and practical operational experience. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director of Finance will independently manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning, while also laying the groundwork for developing an internal finance team in the future.

This opportunity is well-suited for a motivated finance professional who excels in dynamic, growth-oriented settings and is prepared to take on a diverse range of responsibilities with a high level of independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and drive ReCover’s comprehensive budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes to ensure financial stability, optimize resource allocation, and align performance with strategic goals.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine robust financial models and processes that dramatically enhance accuracy, efficiency, and accountability across the organization.
  • Provide operational and strategic financial insights that serve as the analytical foundation for key decision-making by the leadership team and board.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
  • Serve as the primary finance liaison with project teams, meticulously ensuring alignment between project budgets, reporting to government funding agreements, and overall organizational priorities.
  • Manage all compliance and reporting activities for funders, lenders, and the Board of Directors, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely submissions.
  • Proactively identify and resolve financial gaps, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies, proposing and implementing solutions with minimal direction.
  • Partner closely with the CFO and leadership team to strengthen and execute the long-term financial strategy and ensure organizational sustainability.
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, along with a CPA designation or equivalent experience. They will bring extensive operational finance expertise, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, with at least seven years of progressive financial leadership experience. Highly proficient in Excel and financial modelling tools, they will have experience with government funding programs and reporting requirements. This candidate is a confident communicator who can translate complex financial data into actionable insights and build strong relationships across departments. Organized, proactive, and adaptable, they thrive in dynamic environments, excel at problem-solving, and can independently drive decisions while collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
