Are you a passionate leader with deep roots in agriculture and a bold entrepreneurial spirit? Do you thrive on building from the ground up, inspiring teams, and creating lasting impact across local, regional, and national markets? If so, we want to hear from you.

As Director of Business Development, you will be the driving force behind our commercial expansion. You’ll lead with vision and purpose—crafting and executing growth strategies, building high-performing teams, and forging powerful partnerships that accelerate our mission: To empower farmers through sustainable, profitable innovation.

This is more than a leadership role—it’s a chance to shape the future of agriculture.

Responsibilities
  • Create and animate a dynamic business development strategy aligned with our long-term vision.
  • Inspire and lead a team of Business Developers and Agronomic Technical Consultants across multiple regions.
  • Identify, initiate, and scale new market opportunities through your network and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Build and nurture strategic partnerships with Ag Retailers, cooperatives, and key industry players.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and International teams to drive innovation and alignment.
  • Own and manage regional and national P&L responsibilities, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Represent the company at high-level industry events, conferences, and strategic meetings.
The right person
  • A strong background in agriculture, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing today’s farmers.
  • 7-10+ years in agri-business or agtech leadership.
  • A visionary mindset with the ability to turn ideas into action and strategy into results.
  • Proven experience in leading and scaling commercial teams, ideally in agtech or agribusiness.
  • A natural connector with a strong network and the ability to open doors at every level.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • A passion for sustainability, innovation, and impact.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite and client management software (CRM).
  • Work location is flexible within the advertised territory (Saint Simon, QC or nearby areas).
  • We are a remote-based company, allowing you to conduct administrative work from home. Although we are remote-first, we are always able to collaborate and help each other out through different channels.
  • Up to 70% travel (3-4 days a week) with occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Driving conditions: summer, winter, spring, and fall.
  • A fixed salary with bonus potential.
  • Flexible, autonomous work environment.
  • Business tools provided include company vehicle, fuel card, cell phone, laptop, and weekly expense reimbursement.
  • Extended Health & Dental.
  • RRSP matching.
