RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic & Brand Leadership
- Develop and own the overarching marketing and communications strategy for the Market, ensuring it drives lead generation, pipeline…

- Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation across events, media, and creative initiatives.
Campaigns, Communications & Content
- Lead the development and execution of multi‑channel campaigns (digital, PR, content, social media, advertising) that engage buyers, creators, funders, distributors, and technology leaders.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors (creative agencies, PR and Media agencies) to deliver compelling campaigns from concept to delivery.
- Manage the design, content, and messaging across all touchpoints: website, newsletters, social, advertising, and on‑site branding, ensuring a consistent and globally recognizable brand voice.
- Oversee PR and communications strategies for the Market in close collaboration with TIFF VP‑ PR & Comms, including proactive media outreach and reactive issue management, to maintain credibility and visibility across global press.
- Oversee and work closely with TIFF VP‑ PR & Comms for Market’s public relations, media engagement, and press response to maintain strong visibility and brand reputation globally.
Partnerships, Sales Integration & Revenue Growth
- Co‑Create and lead marketing strategies that highlight and commercialize Market assets such as passes, screenings, pavilions, programs and branded experiences ensuring partners and sponsors are fully integrated into the Market narrative.
- Collaborate with Sales and Head of Market on pricing strategies, asset positioning, and performance tracking to ensure marketing efforts contribute directly to revenue outcomes.
- Lead the creation of targeted sales campaigns and marketing collateral that enhance visibility for sales assets, screenings, and delegate packages.
Data, Insights & Measurement
- Define key marketing KPIs and dashboards to track campaign performance, delegate conversion, and ROI.
- Use analytics and CRM tools (Google Analytics, Salesforce, HubSpot) to measure effectiveness, generate insights, and inform strategy refinement.
- Continuously assess brand growth and audience engagement through qualitative and quantitative data, translating insights into actionable improvements.
JOB GRADE & SALARY
- Job Grade Salary Range/Annually: $90,000-$120,000
TARGET CONTRACT DATES
- Immediate or upon availability
WORK LOCATION
- Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
- Weekly in-office requirements:
- Minimum 2 days (1st November – 30th April)
- Minimum 3 days (1st May – 31st October)
- Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration.
- 7-10 years experience in marketing leadership for large-scale events, markets, film festivals, trade fairs, or entertainment/media organizations.
- Experience developing creative briefs and evaluating concepts / final executions a must
- Demonstrated success in delivering integrated MARCOM strategies that drive measurable growth and brand engagement.
- Education in graphic design, video production, film, literature or related creative arts is considered an asset.
- Experience working with a marketing team and taking responsibility for strategically‑driven campaign work.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with programming, sales, communication and business teams
- Strong understanding of B2B marketing dynamics, delegate acquisition, and brand storytelling for global audiences.
- Exceptional presentation, written, and communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized and goal‑oriented, with flexibility needed to shift gears quickly as organizational events impact creative activities.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with sound decision‑making and analytical skills.
- Inspiring creative collaborator who is able to work with equal efficiency independently.
- Self‑motivated individual with a professional and trusted public demeanor who is able to generate and clearly present communications.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not a requirement
