Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Director, IT Solutions to lead engagement with senior stakeholders, shape solution strategy and oversee architecture across IT, shop floor, SCM and ops. You will drive governance, SDLC and cross‑functional delivery to meet business goals.

You will manage a high‑performing team of managers, coordinate with internal and external partners, negotiate conflicts and escalate issues with corrective actions as needed.

Summary

Provides expert business, process and technical skills and knowledge to teams that are responsible for assessing, designing, delivering and supporting IT solutions to clients and customers. The Director, IT Solutions will also have the experience and responsibility to ensure that solution team members that are external to IT or even Celestica will also provide quality input and deliverables in a way that meets Celestica's overall goals and requirements, and will need to manage relationships and negotiate and resolve conflict when necessary. The Director, IT Solutions will be responsible to ensure that any missed items are identified and escalated to leadership and stakeholders (internal & external) and develop resolutions or corrective action plans. The Director, IT Solutions will be responsible to establish goals, objectives and strategy in their areas of expertise, and leverage their knowledge and experience to move solution delivery and support teams to meet targets.

Detailed Description

• Lead engagement with senior stakeholders including IT/Business Partners as well as external/internal communities for opportunities and or alignment of solution strategy
• Provide solution architecture as well as expertise in the selected area of responsibility (e.g. Shop floor, IT, SCM, Ops, etc.)
• Provide direction and guidance in IT Process (e.g. Operating Model, Governance, System Development Life Cycle)
• Oversee and support team in providing guidance on relevant technologies and concepts (e.g. Azure, Cloud Tech, .NET, SAP/ABAP, etc.)
• Manage and motivate a high-performing team of subordinate managers and employees including onboarding, off boarding, identifying skills gaps for training purposes, ensuring optimal workload assignment, targets, career development and pathing, etc.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Expert knowledge & experience in IT process (e.g. operating model, governance, IT delivery lifecycle)
• Expert knowledge & experience in select business processes (e.g. Shop floor, IT, SCM, Ops, etc.)
• Strong knowledge & experience in relevant technologies and concepts (e.g. SAP, xAAS, .NET, Azure, etc.)
• Expert ability to make or guide decisions, and drive team actions in accordance with strategy.
• Strong problem solving & analytic skillset, with an ability to innovate.
• Expert relationship management and negotiations skills.
• Strong knowledge & experience in Agile and Waterfall development/project methodologies
• Strong knowledge of Celestica IT architecture strategies
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to motivate a team to work together towards a common goal
• Strong Project Management & Planning skills.
• Strong interpersonal and human resource management skills.

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
