IWK Health has been supporting the implementation and scale of Integrated Youth Services (IYS) now called Anchor Youth Space across Nova Scotia. IYS is part of a vibrant national and international movement transforming how youth and families access mental health substance use and wellness services through virtual community outreach and in person services within an integrated partnership model. Together these partnerships are advancing a coordinated equitable and sustainable network of services that truly reflect the voices and needs of children youth and their families. The Director of Anchor Youth Space Nova Scotia oversees a provincial leadership team that supports the facilitation and development of co-designed community led Achor Youth Space sites across Nova Scotia. The Anchor Youth Space provincial leadership team works in collaboration with the lead community agencies to support sites with implementation system partnership training and education and drive continuous learning and improvement through evaluation and data driven Director works in close collaboration with the Mental Health & Addictions co-leadership as Anchor Youth Space plays a key role within the eco system of the Universal Mental Health and Addictions strategy in Nova Scotia.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President-Patient Care Learning & Chief Nurse Executive with accountabilities to leadership in the Mental Health and Addictions program the Integrated Youth Services Director is responsible for providing leadership coordination strategic direction and the development of Integrated Youth Services (IYS) in Nova Scotia. The Director will provide oversight at the system level and partnership development at the community level ensuring appropriate youth family and community engagement in all aspects of IYS Nova Scotia. The Director will be responsible for the coordination of the service delivery partnerships engagement of special populations data collection site evaluation and for ensuring all Integrated Youth Services principles are realized at the site level.

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday 75 hours bi-weekly. Participation in on-call coverage is required

Your Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of demonstrated health care leadership required. Preferably in a Director capacity.
  • Have coached developed and led high performance teams with a strong track record of continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.
  • A masters level preparation in a health administration and clinical profession linked to Mental Health and Addictions practice.
  • Relevant and current professional credentials licensed in your health-related discipline
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive experience in child and youth mental health and addictions required.
  • Successful strategic contribution to effective clinical service delivery enhanced patient safety and advanced level practice in the field of Mental Health and Addictions within an organization.
  • Relevant and current professional credentials licensed in your health-related discipline.
  • The ability to work within and contribute to a scope of work practice that is national provincial regional and community based.
  • Expertise in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships. Above all you have achieved these results through collaboration and well-honed project management skills.
  • Must be a skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and written skills.
  • Ability to design and implement transformational change through systems thinking and a continuous quality improvement framework
  • Experience and training in cultural competence
  • Strong critical thinking judgement and decision-making skills are required.
