Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA), situated in beautiful south west Ontario, is a multi-site organization that includes Clinton Public Hospital, St. Marys Memorial Hospital, Seaforth Community Hospital and Stratford General Hospital. With over 1500 staff, 160 professional staff, 400 volunteers, and revenues of close to $200 million, the HPHA is guided by values of compassion, integrity and accountability. Reporting to the Vice President, People, Engagement & Social Accountability, the Director, Human Resources is a dynamic, innovative leader accountable for a forward-moving team of professionals and responsible for all people-based activity within the organization from both an operational and strategic perspective. The Director will manage and oversee the full spectrum of HR operations across the organization including HR administration, labour relations, performance management, benefits and compensation, regulatory compliance, recruitment and retention, occupational health and safety, learning and development, corporate communications, student engagement, and Volunteer Services. Central to this role is cultivating a workplace culture that values inclusion, professional growth, and the well-being of all staff and volunteers, ensuring that every member of the HPHA team can thrive.

The Director applies a systems-thinking approach to a combination of the development and execution of strategic planning, operational performance and relationship management, embedding people and partnerships at the centre of meaningful progress. Key priorities include meeting and exceeding performance targets, maintaining attention to and focus on continuous quality improvement, performance management, and promoting and leading innovation in a dynamic healthcare system. The Director will ensure programs meet legislative, regulatory, and ethical standards, while also creating the conditions for new initiatives to thrive within fiscal resources. By nurturing a person-centred environment, the Director will champion proactive change and serve as a trusted advisor, facilitator, coach, and educator, strengthening both the Alliance and the broader health system.

By supporting partnerships across the region, the Director will advance collaboration and integration that strengthen care for the communities we serve. As a key Member of the HPHA’s Leadership Team, the Director will influence organizational strategy, work with a dynamic, passionate group of individuals striving to exceed today’s needs, advancing system integration and relentlessly innovating for the future while advancing the HPHA brand.

Bringing more than a decade of progressive leadership experience within complex, healthcare environments, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to navigate workforce planning, organizational change, performance and attendance management, succession planning, and leadership development with confidence and foresight. A proven record of guiding multidisciplinary teams and advancing transformational culture change will be essential, along with the capacity to drive continuous improvement initiatives while fostering collaboration and innovation across the organization. Experience managing within a unionized environment will be considered a valued asset, complemented by successful completion of a University degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, along with the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation. A Master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred.
