A regional educational organization in Dartmouth is seeking a Director of Human Resource Services. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the HR team and develop strategic solutions to support organizational goals. Responsibilities include recruitment, labour relations, and policy development. Ideal candidates have extensive HR experience and a master's degree. Competitive salary range is $151,715 - $189,644 CAD.
The Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) operates 136 schools serving more than 60,000 students and employing over 11,000 teachers and support staff. HRCE works in partnership with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) to provide programming and services from pre-primary to grade 12 and shares a geographic boundary with the Halifax Regional Municipality.
HRCE is searching for a Director, Human Resource Services
The Director, Human Resource Services shall provide leadership and direction to the Human Resources team to support the goals and objectives of the organization; provide consultative advice and strategic HR solutions to the Regional Executive Director and senior management team. The Director will lead the operations and strategic initiatives of human resources such as recruitment and selection, labour relations, contract negotiations, compensation and benefits, occupational health and safety, performance management, policy development, and training and development. The Director will work collaboratively as a member of the senior management team to support student achievement and well-being and organizational effectiveness. This position reports directly to the Regional Executive Director.
In addition to the following qualifications, the ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships, both internally and externally, to achieve HRCEs goals.
This position is classified on the Education Entities Non-Union Compensation Framework at Band 17 with an annual range between $151,715 - $189,644. The Non-Union Compensation Framework is available here: educationnon-union-compensation-framework-en.pdf.
