Job summary

National Research Council (NRC) seeks a Director General, Aquatic and Crop Resource Development to lead a multisite, multidisciplinary research centre and drive strategic collaborations across industry, academia, and government. You will shape research agendas, manage large programs, and advance Canadian agricultural and marine bioresources into high‑value products.

Qualifications

• Advanced post-secondary degree such as Ph.D. and/or MSc/MBA with significant experience leading research teams.
• Significant leadership, administrative, financial and human‑resources management experience.
• Proven ability to build partnerships with national and international organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for ACRD across NRC and its senior management team.
• Lead, inspire and manage a diverse multisite, multidisciplinary research organization.
• Develop and maintain strategic projects with senior government, academia and industry partners.
• Drive growth initiatives, research collaborations and technology development.
• Foster a high‑performing team culture that supports scientific excellence and entrepreneurship.
