Job summary

Nelson is seeking a seasoned leader to guide the French Language portfolios on Edwin. You will drive strategy, mentor content specialists and external contributors, and align product direction with French curriculum policy and market needs.

This role requires strong bilingual capability and a track record in SaaS/EdTech product leadership. You will collaborate across departments to grow the Edwin customer base, apply market research insights, and deliver high-impact French educational content

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in education, preferably with French specialization.
  • Significant K-12 French language curriculum and instructional experience.
  • Fully bilingual in French and English.
  • 7-8 years’ experience in K-12 French language education market across teaching, product/content development, research, and customer success.
  • Proven ability to launch and manage profitable products/services and engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own portfolio goals, budgets, competitive positioning, market feedback, and efficacy.
  • Provide editorial leadership for French freelance authors and external contributors.
  • Identify new product opportunities and set instructional direction based on policy and market needs.
  • Lead internal and external French language SME teams and travel for thought leadership when needed.
  • Develop go-to-market content strategies to grow and retain Edwin customer base.
  • Collaborate with Content & Curriculum, Strategy, Classroom Success, Sales, Engineering, Design, and Marketing teams.

Job description

  • Report to the Vice President, Content & Curriculum
  • Drive the vision, strategy, and growth of Nelson’s French Language portfolios on Edwin
  • Lead internal specialists and external contributors
  • Identify new product opportunities
  • Set instructional direction based on French language policy, curriculum, and market needs
  • Provide editorial leadership for French freelance authors, subject matter experts, and digital asset creators
  • Own portfolio goals, budgets, competitive positioning, market feedback, and efficacy
  • Conduct customer-facing market research to inform and validate portfolio decisions
  • Collaborate with Content & Curriculum, Strategy, Classroom Success, Sales, Engineering, Design, and Marketing teams
  • Develop go-to-market content strategies to grow and retain the Edwin customer base
  • Conduct market research and identify teaching, learning, and assessment trends
  • Launch and iterate innovative French content, assessments, and features
  • Lead content conceptualization, assessment, and instructional design
  • Develop and launch new and revised content strategies and services
  • Build relationships with Francophone authors, educators, school boards, and subject matter experts
  • Lead and develop an internal French and Francophone subject matter expert team and external contributors
  • Provide internal and external subject-area thought leadership, including occasional travel and public speaking
  • Apply Nelson’s corporate vision to optimize portfolio growth, product performance, and Edwin success metrics
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably a B.Ed. with a specialization in French, French Studies, or Francophone Studies
  • Significant K-12 French language curriculum and instructional experience
  • Fully bilingual in French and English
  • 7-8 years’ experience in the K-12 French language education market, spanning teaching, product and content development, market research, and customer success
  • Demonstrated success defining or sourcing, launching, and managing profitable products and services
  • Proven ability to engage prospective and existing customers, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of the K-12 Francophone and French language education sector, including FFL and FSL curricula (Core, Extended, and Immersion)
  • Experience developing assessment strategies supporting assessment for, as, and of learning
  • Understanding of K-12 French resource landscapes, including traditional resources, digital platforms, and generative AI tools
  • Short-, medium-, and long-range portfolio planning experience
  • Ability to identify risks and develop contingency plans
  • Strong Francophone market connections
  • Ability to identify, recruit, train, mentor, and develop French Language educators and subject matter experts
  • Understanding of research and pedagogy applied to product design
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery
  • Experience managing, leading, and mentoring a team
  • Constructive negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • SaaS business experience and experience working with technology teams in an agile environment
  • UX and product design experience is a plus
