Job summary

Pacific Blue Cross is seeking a strategic, collaborative Director of Data & Insights to shape enterprise data strategy, governance, and capabilities. You will partner with executives to enable trusted insights and data-driven decisions across the organization.

Lead the Data & Insights Office, drive modernization, and champion AI initiatives to improve member services and operational performance. Strong leadership and stakeholder management are essential for this role.

Reporting to the Vice President, Information Technology & Enterprise Transformation, you will lead the development of PBC's enterprise data, analytics, and AI strategy, helping transform data from an operational asset into a strategic advantage. Working closely with executive leaders and business partners, you will establish the foundations that enable trusted insights, stronger decision-making, and greater organizational agility.

You'll influence enterprise priorities, champion innovation, and create a culture where data empowers teams to better serve members, improve operational performance, and deliver on PBC's long-term strategic objectives.

If your experience includes roles such as Director of Data & Analytics, Director of Business Intelligence, Head of Data & Insights, Director of Data Governance, Director of Enterprise Analytics, Director of Data Strategy, Director of AI & Analytics, Chief Data Officer, Analytics Director, Enterprise Data Leader, or similar leadership positions, and you've successfully leveraged data, analytics, and emerging technologies to drive business outcomes within industries such as healthcare, insurance, financial services, telecommunications, consulting, retail, or other complex, data-driven environments

• Position Title: Director, Data and Insights
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days in the office and 2 days’ work from home
• Classification: Exempt
• Salary Range: $138,000 - $208,000 ( Pacific Blue Cross’ compensation program is built on a pay-for-performance philosophy, rewarding both individual and organizational achievements. We determine starting salaries by considering a variety of factors, including relevant skills, education, experience, and internal equity, ensuring compensation decisions are consistent, equitable, and reflective of each candidate’s unique background and qualifications)
• Incentive Compensation Plan (ICP bonus) per year based on performance: Up to 15.00%

• Flexible working hours of 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday (i.e., 37.5 hours per week).
• Paid vacation starts at 4 weeks per year and increases with years of service.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a major in Business, Data Science, Statistics, or an equivalent discipline, including or supplemented by courses in leadership/supervision.
• Strong expertise in data governance, analytics, and emerging AI applications.
• 10 - 12 years of related experience in data and analytics including the application of insights into decision-making and/or automated processes.
• 7+ years of experience in progressively senior leadership positions.
• Excellent project and change management skills.
• Ability to translate business drivers and challenges into data insights and initiatives.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve challenges, driving solutions through to completion
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills with both business and technical stakeholders.
