Job summary

Langara College is seeking a Director, Cyber Security to provide strategic leadership and enterprise oversight for all aspects of cyber and information security. You will align security strategy with provincial standards, risk tolerance, and college priorities while balancing academic agility and digital transformation.

The role requires executive interaction with the Board, Senior Leadership Team, and external bodies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in any discipline; Undergraduate degree in computing science or business-related discipline.
• Professional credentials related to information security (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
• Minimum of ten years of progressive technology experience, including at least five years in cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Directs strategy, governance, and policy for enterprise information cyber security.
• Leads risk management, incident response, and security operations.
• Oversees security awareness, training, and incident reporting to executives and Board.
• Collaborates with Legal, Risk Management, and IT leadership on regulatory compliance.
