Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD in Psychology or equivalent doctoral-level qualification, with registration or eligibility for registration as a psychologist in Nova Scotia.
• Significant senior leadership experience in clinical, counselling, mental health, or psychological services.
• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams with supervision, workforce planning, and talent development.
• Deep knowledge of clinical governance, confidentiality, risk assessment, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience designing and transforming service delivery models (access pathways, intake/triage, stepped-care, capacity management).
• Strong strategic, analytical, and relationship-building abilities with data and quality improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision, consultation, and case guidance to counsellors and staff for sound clinical judgment.
• Offer consultation on complex/high-risk cases to support decision-making, risk assessment, and care planning.
• Lead renewal and optimization of the counselling service delivery model to meet evolving student needs.
• Build and sustain a high-performing clinical workforce through leadership, planning, and talent development.
• Drive innovation and data-informed decision-making for service transformation and outcomes.
• Serve as a key institutional leader, fostering collaboration across units to advance student mental health.
