Job summary

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in business, communications, marketing or related field.
  • 7+ years in nonprofit corporate fundraising or corporate development or sales/marketing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation abilities.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Director, Corporate Partnershipto supports the implementation of an integrated corporate partnerships strategy that contributes to the achievement of our mission and meets annual revenue requirements.

The Director will effectively build and advance existing partnerships and actively pursue new corporate partners that can significantly impact the long-term success of Diabetes Canada's Corporate Fund Development program.

Location: Our National Office is located at 1000–170 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. We offer a flexible work arrangement, allowing employees to work remotely while occasionally coming into the office as required by their manager or the organization. This role will involve travel for meetings and professional events.

Compensation: The hiring salary range for this role is $113,000–$120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and alignment with the requirements of the position.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Involvement:

  • Collaborate in the development and execution of strategic and multi-year business plans with internal stakeholders to achieve annual business plan fundraising goals (driven by the overall organizational goal);
  • Monitor and analyze external markets to identify trends in new partnership and business development opportunities and implement marketing plans to achieve new partnership commitments
  • Represent Diabetes Canada within corporate Canada and act as an ambassador for the organization

People and Relationships:

  • Build, engage and maintain strong rapport with existing and new corporate partners.
  • Collaborate and develop strong working relationships and partnerships with national and regional teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Foster collaboration across teams to support shared organizational objectives.
  • Maintain open and frequent communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure mutual value-added relationships.
  • Lead and coach team members, ensuring that development plans are pursued and that they are motivated and mentored to reach their full potential.

Business Processes:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of corporate prospects, sponsors and supporters using the customer relationship management (CRM) system and shared platforms.
  • Develop and lead the delivery of impactful proposals in partnership with Diabetes Canada’s Stewardship and Marketing & Communication teams.
  • Conduct research and prepare briefing materials on corporate prospects and sector growth opportunities.
  • Stay informed on corporate giving trends and integrate insights into fundraising strategies.
  • Use data and program/event metrics to develop impactful sponsorship and donation proposals.

Note: This role is not limited to the responsibilities listed above and may include other duties as required.

What You Bring
  • Post-secondary degree preferably in business, communication, marketing or other relevant area; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with corporate sector (life sciences, insurance, banking, retail etc.).
  • 7+ years’ experience in non-for-profit corporate fundraising or corporate development or sales/marketing and experience with CRM software.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills including impactful presentation abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven influential/persuasive abilities.
  • Deep knowledge of the corporate, philanthropic and sponsorship environments; including principles and techniques of Fund Development & stewardship.
  • Ability to build and prioritize partner relationships across departments.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Agile and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
