Job description

Compensation: $110,000 – $150,000 / year (full-time / permanent)

On Side Restoration is seeking a strategic and influential Director of Compliance to lead our organization’s compliance and risk management framework, as well as oversee the On Side Quality Assurance (QA) team. This critical role ensures that our policies, procedures, and practices align with all regulatory requirements and industry standards, while fostering a strong culture of compliance across the organization.

As a trusted advisor, the Director of Compliance will drive initiatives that safeguard our reputation, mitigate risk, and support operational excellence across all business units. This position requires a proactive leader who can balance strategic vision with hands‑on execution to ensure compliance and quality remain at the forefront of everything we do.

The Job
  • Lead the Quality Assurance team and compliance function
  • Responsible for efforts to protect and enhance On Side’s standing as a trusted industry leader by embedding compliance excellence across all operations.
  • Monitor and interpret federal, provincial and local regulations impacting the restoration and insurance claims industry.
  • Review documentation of protocols and internal compliance frameworks and promote awareness of ethical behavior, fraud prevention, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the Business Compliance and Risk Officer (BCRO), leading BCRO liaison officers (OPS, H&S, Finance, Shared services, National Initiatives, HR…) to identify, document and report risk exposures.
  • Responsible for completing parent company risk assessments in collaboration with others
  • Drive consistency and compliance by ensuring On Side’s policies and procedures are clearly documented and fully aligned with regulations, industry standards and parent company requirements (e.g. IICRC, privacy laws, insurance billing standards, SLAs, Quality, Controls for subtrades payments…).
  • Lead compliance communication and promote awareness of controls, ethical behavior, fraud prevention, and regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal audit and risk assessment teams, help identify gaps and approve recommended corrective action plans.
  • Review L&D’s design of compliance training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Oversee investigations of compliance breaches, client and/or insurer complaints with QA, or regulatory inquiries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to review and approve billing practices frameworks to ensure compliance and transparency.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audits and investigations.
  • Provide regular reports and feedback to Executive Committee and/or Senior Management Team on compliance and top risk exposures.
What you Bring
  • Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Business, Law, Risk Management, or related field or a combination of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5‑7 years of progressive experience (including leadership) in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs, preferably within insurance or restoration industries.
  • Deep understanding of Canadian regulatory frameworks, privacy laws, and insurance billing standards.
  • Experience leading audits, investigations, and cross‑functional compliance initiatives.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement compliance programs and training.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
