Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will be responsible for creating the strategic direction for NTI communications reflecting the priorities, goals, and objectives of NTI and the Nunavut Agreement. You will oversee all communications‑related functions, procedures, systems, and policies at NTI to ensure effective internal and external communications between NTI and its target audiences. You, as the successful candidate, will be responsible for producing or coordinating all written products, published materials, speeches, including oversight responsibility of interpretation/translation, records, and information management.

To be invited for an interview; you must have a University degree or diploma in a communication‑related field of study, or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years experience in the field of communications and 5 years experience in the management of staff. A thorough knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement, sensitive to local, political and cultural issues and aspirations. Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex information to create press releases and notices for public distribution using plain language. Superior organization and analytical skills, direct media experience, purchasing and procurement experience. You must have effective presentation skills in a variety of means and various audiences; demonstrate tact and prudence, also a team player, self‑motivated and self‑directed individual. High‑level attention to detail and the ability to multi‑task as well as spoken and written Inuktut/Inuinnaqtun language is desirable and willingness to learn is required. The equivalencies for this position are diploma in Policy and Administration or Management Studies with 2 additional years of communications, policy development, research or program administration in addition to all of the above experience, skills, knowledge and competencies.

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary is $139,879.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.

Employee Housing may be available for this position.

NTI provides a variety of housing supports to employees including down payment assistance and housing allowance of $35,865.00.
