What You’ll Be Doing

As a member of the Business Architecture team, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic change across our business processes and infrastructure. You will act as a bridge between product and process, facilitating the evolution of our Capital Markets businesses and ensuring the successful implementation of front‑to‑back solutions. Your efforts will directly contribute to revenue growth, product expansion, and cost optimization, all while maintaining a clear strategic focus. You will also identify synergies across business lines, championing unified solutions for technology investments and process improvements.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with various change programs, designing and delivering innovative solutions to enhance process workflows. You will ensure that controls are maintained or strengthened, reducing risk and maximizing the functionality of our trading platforms. Your collaboration with downstream teams will be essential, as you deliver technology and process solutions tailored to their core requirements, not just their current practices. This is an opportunity for you to take a proactive approach to issue resolution with infrastructure partners, drive key initiatives forward, and contribute to the design and development of innovative solutions from the earliest stages of business vision. Your leadership will help shape the future of our organization, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1‑3 days per week on‑site, while other days will be remote.

How You’ll Succeed
  • Platform Implementation & Business Support: You will provide essential support to platform implementation programs, proactively managing downstream activities in collaboration with infrastructure groups to ensure the successful delivery of core requirements and functions. You will build and maintain strong, inclusive working relationships with various Lines of Business and Infrastructure groups, taking the time to understand their expectations and delivering tailored, strategic solutions that enhance their use of core technology in support of their fundamental operations. Throughout the day, you remain accessible to the business, actively responding to information requests and resolving day‑to‑day issues as they arise. You will also act promptly on ad‑hoc requests and projects, ensuring timely and effective execution.

  • Change Management & Stakeholder Collaboration: You serve as a key interface between business and application owners, Risk Management, Finance, Operations, and Technology. You provide vital change management support as new technology is implemented and as processes are adapted or designed, ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout each stage of transition. Your inclusive approach helps facilitate smooth collaboration and drives successful outcomes during periods of change.

  • Strategic Analysis & Process Optimization: You are empowered to look strategically across business lines to identify opportunities for synergies and standardization that drive greater efficiency. You analyze core functions and develop economic measurement tools to track process costs and benefits, enabling informed decision‑making as changes are implemented. Your inclusive approach ensures that all perspectives are considered in optimizing processes and delivering measurable value to the organization.

  • Risk Assessment & Project Implementation Support: You assist the Executive Director in evaluating the quality of key control environments, leading specific risk assessments, and developing test plans while reviewing the testing of key controls. You support Lines of Business in CIBC‑wide project implementations by contributing to the development of policies and procedures, project plans, business requirements, executive presentations, and training materials. Throughout your work, you operate effectively within CIBC’s risk appetite and corporate governance practices, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures across Risk Management, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, and Compliance. Your proactive approach helps ensure that all potential risks are appropriately managed and that CIBC’s legal, reputational, and shareholder objectives are achieved.

Who You Are
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Capital Markets role, or role directly working and supporting Capital Markets business.

  • You have 5+ years of experience working in areas such as technology architecture, automation, and data strategy, enabling you to effectively contribute to technology‑driven initiatives.

  • You have demonstrated experience working with global trading and capital markets products, including bonds, foreign exchange, equities, derivatives, and other financial instruments, with a comprehensive perspective on trading and product life cycles.

  • You have in‑depth knowledge of capital markets reference data types (entity, counterparty, product, transaction), related systems, and key market infrastructures such as execution venues, clearing houses, and central settlement systems.

  • You are tech savvy and bring excellent understanding of key technology domains. You demonstrate proficiency in essential software tools. Your skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio support efficient documentation, analysis, and presentation of information.

  • You are goal oriented and thrive in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments. Your strong multitasking and time‑management skills enable you to manage deadlines while balancing multiple priorities effectively. You are a delivery‑focused self‑starter who takes ownership of your work. With a strong work ethic, you work independently and consistently drive results, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standard.

  • You have the ability to drive the strategic direction of the group and capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities. Your strong interpersonal and networking skills enable you to work seamlessly as a team player, fostering a positive and results‑driven environment.

  • You have an eye for detail and excel in analytical thinking. Your strong problem‑solving abilities, sound judgment, and expertise in implementing change enable you to identify issues, analyze complex situations, and drive effective solutions.

  • You’re passionate about people and dedicated to client satisfaction. Your commitment is evident through your consistent focus on meeting client needs and delivering exceptional service in every interaction.

  • You have strong communication skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work alongside the business, including senior management, on a day‑to‑day basis.

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and you live our values – trust, teamwork, and accountability. #LI‑TA
