A leading pension fund organization in Toronto is seeking a Director of Artificial Intelligence Compliance to manage AI risk and regulatory compliance. You will ensure responsible AI practices while driving innovation across corporate affairs. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in compliance and strong AI knowledge. The Director of Artificial Intelligence ("AI") Compliance will be part of a global team to help manage and support all AI matters, including other related disciplines, for the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan including six key functions of the Compliance Operating Model: i) Advisory, ii) Policies and Procedures iii) Education and Training, iv) Monitoring and Surveillance, v) Compliance Risk Management, vi) Compliance Reporting to Senior Management and the Board.
As AI becomes more incorporated into Teachers' enterprise strategy and operations, it is crucial to prioritize responsible AI practices. This role will primarily focus on considering new risks that differ from traditional technology risks and facilitating the integration of responsible AI tools and platforms. Although the role's mandate will be to facilitate AI enablement and ensure responsible AI, AI risk management, and regulatory compliance throughout the enterprise, it will also help drive innovation and enablement of AI across Corporate Affairs to enhance operational efficiency. This role will also focus on promoting both enablement and compliance in alignment with broader business transformation goals and act as an interconnected agent to help achieve this.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, risk management / regulatory experience and strong relationship management skills, enabling effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
The Compliance Department\'s vision is to be a trusted partner and advisor to help Teachers\' global business lines execute on business-specific AI priorities, effectively manage risk, regulatory compliance and related best practices in accordance with Teachers\' risk tolerance, and to help build a sustainable culture of compliance. You will work as part of Corporate Affairs and work with teams across all divisions at Teachers'.
