Job summary

YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is seeking a Director of Annual Giving & Community Engagement to lead the association-wide annual giving strategy and drive revenue across Southwestern Ontario. The role requires managing a team, collaborating with branches, and traveling to events across Chatham, Sarnia, St. Thomas, and London.

Start date is September 2026, with a hybrid work model. You will oversee events, donor engagement, and data-driven reporting while aligning programs with the YMCA's mission

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in fundraising, business, marketing, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of progressive fundraising experience with annual giving focus.
• Proven leadership of staff and high-performing teams.
• Strong multi-channel fundraising strategy and donor engagement knowledge.
• Event planning experience and oversight of community campaigns.
• Exceptional project management and data reporting skills.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership to the annual giving team including Development Officers and Database Administrator.
• Coach, mentor, and build capacity across the annual giving team.
• Foster a high-performing, collaborative, mission-driven culture.
• Lead association-wide annual giving strategy and ensure regional alignment.
• Oversee fundraising events, campaigns, timelines, targets, and ROI.
• Collaborate with Marketing for positioning and asset development.
• Partner with VP Development to align annual giving with broader strategy.
