Job Description

The House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property is currently seeking a Digital Product Strategist to lead strategic planning and execution within specific digital product lines. This role ensures alignment with the enterprise strategy set by the Digital Enterprise (DE) Strategist and oversees the development of Digital Product Line Roadmaps, ensuring strategic traceability through their alignment with the broader DSRP Strategic Plan.

As a senior technology and strategy expert, the Digital Product Strategist operationalizes enterprise frameworks within product lines, focusing on stakeholder engagement and ensuring compliance with established IT standards. The role provides high-level advisory services on the execution of product‑specific strategies, identifying and managing interdependencies, resource allocations, and solution development to optimize both product and architectural decisions.

Qualifications
Education
  • Successful completion of a college or university degree in Information Technology, System Engineering, Innovation Management, or another related field; or an acceptable combination of formal education, training, and/or experience in the relevant fields.
Experience
  • Extensive experience in corporate or product strategy planning, product development, product management, or technical/digital consulting.
  • Extensive experience in designing, developing, and integrating Digital Product Line and/or Enterprise IT/Digital Workplace vision and strategy in a mission‑critical, operational environment.
  • Extensive experience in determining actions and resources required to advance from vision to reality.
  • Experience preparing briefing material and presentations pertaining to technical topics and presenting to targeted audiences.
  • Experience identifying, developing, reviewing, and evolving best practices, standards, and promoting operating procedures and processes.
Assets
  • 5+ years driving strategy and execution with digital workplace and/or IT service offerings or related roles.
  • Hands on experience building prototypes, proof of concepts and technical solutions.
  • Hands on experience conducting user‑research, building personas, identifying user need and use cases, building business cases, developing roadmaps, product requirement documents.
  • Proven experience with data analytics, KPI development and dashboarding tools.
  • Familiarity with software and hardware procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and change management.
