The Opportunity

Marketing and Communications is critical to the profile and viability of Banff Centre. The Digital Marketing Specialist assists Marketing in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of digital marketing plans. This role will contribute to all areas by championing marketing analytics, considering the Banff Centre ecosystem, and enabling data-driven decisions. The role supports the creation, execution, and analysis across digital assets, including the website, email campaigns, and digital ads, and reinforces best practices across the institution. The goals of the department are to position Banff Centre as a leading arts and leadership training institute and to recruit quality participants, build digital and physical audiences, engage with communities and stakeholders, and support related departments to maximize enterprise revenue. The role works closely with the Manager, Digital Marketing Platforms, and Manager, Digital Marketing to execute campaigns across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of digital marketing campaigns, presenting actionable insights and data-based learnings through data visualization.
  • Associate marketing activities with business objectives, such as program applications and ticket sales.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations based on industry trends and user behaviour.
  • Analyse user journeys to improve customer experience and maximize conversions.
  • Implement qualitative data in reports to provide extra insights such as heatmaps and survey results.
  • Website: review the website for spelling errors, broken links, and accessibility improvements; support website maintenance; create wireframes, sitemaps, and page mock-ups; support content updates to digital marketing assets; build cross-functional relationships to maintain standards and templates; adhere to brand guidelines; participate in change management for digital platforms; implement metrics and KPIs for data-driven strategy.
  • Ads: support digital campaign creative processes, creation, maintenance, and optimization; participate in testing digital platforms, webpages and ads, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a web/digital marketing environment with knowledge of current trends, SaaS, analytics and social media.
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management; capable of handling multiple tasks and projects.
  • Self-starter able to work under broad direction without close supervision.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and MS Office; knowledge of information architecture; ability to aggregate data from multiple sources into cohesive visualizations.
  • Familiarity with website and email marketing best practices; Drupal and Mailchimp are assets; UX/UI, wireframes and mockups experience.
  • Experience with Meta Business Manager and Google Ads preferred; experience managing social media analytics is an asset; experience with CRM environments preferred.
  • Gaming or arts organization experience or working in a post-secondary institution is an asset; bilingual (French, English) is an asset; familiarity with HTML, CSS, SEO/SEM, Adobe tools and video editing is an asset.
Employment Terms and Benefits
  • In accordance with CUPE 4318, this is a unionized, salaried position with a 6-month probation period; salary range is $46,987.20 to $54,371.20 per year, based on 40 hours per week.
