Job description

We’re looking for a creative, strategic Digital Marketing Lead to own Earthscape Play’s digital marketing function and bring our story to life across our digital and customer touchpoints. Reporting to our Director, Marketing, and working closely with sales and cross-functional teams, you will set the digital and content plan, manage the budget behind it, and turn ideas and project highlights into polished, high-performing campaigns. You will own our website, social channels, email marketing, and SEO, lead multi-channel and paid campaigns, manage external creative partners as needed, and be accountable for the results that matter most: web traffic, leads, and engagement.

Our work is highly visual and design-led. Success in this role requires a strong communicator and self-starter who excels at storytelling, in both copy and visual formats, balances competing priorities with sound judgment, and possesses the organizational rigor to manage digital platforms, turn performance data into decisions, and keep marketing projects moving seamlessly from concept to launch.

What You’ll Own:
Digital Strategy, Budget & Performance
  • Digital & Content Planning: Build and own the digital and content plan, including channel priorities, the editorial calendar, and the campaign roadmap, aligned to Earthscape’s overarching marketing strategy and sales goals.
  • Budget Ownership: Manage the digital marketing budget across paid media, website, and marketing technology, making smart investment trade-offs and reallocating spend based on performance.
  • Performance & KPIs: Own channel KPIs, including web traffic, leads, and social media engagement. Track results using Google Analytics (GA4) and native platform insights, then use what you learn to refine tactics, double down on high-performing content, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Leadership Reporting: Present results, insights, and recommendations to our leadership team, and align stakeholders on priorities and next steps.
  • Website Management & Optimization: Own everything on Earthscape’s WordPress website, from project portfolios, brand stories, and product pages to new landing pages, plugin updates, site performance, and accessibility (AODA). Test and improve pages to turn more visitors into leads, and manage any web developer or hosting partners.
  • SEO & Search: Lead our SEO strategy, including keyword research, technical SEO, Google Search Console, and optimizing for modern search behaviour (AEO/AI search).
  • Tracking & Lead Capture: Maintain GA4 and Google Tag Manager so form fills, leads, and campaign results are tracked accurately, and work with Sales to make sure new leads are captured in our CRM (Copper) and followed up quickly.
  • Social Media: Own our LinkedIn and Instagram presence end to end, including strategy, content creation, publishing and scheduling natively in each platform, community management, and performance reporting.
  • Email Marketing: Own our email program end to end, including audience lists and segmentation, newsletters, campaign and nurture emails, CASL compliance, and performance reporting, keeping landscape architects, clients, and partners engaged with Earthscape between projects.
  • Paid Digital: Plan and run paid search campaigns in Google Ads, managing keywords, ad copy, landing pages, and spend to drive qualified traffic and leads, and test other paid channels as budget allows.
  • Digital Tools & Standards: Own and improve our digital marketing stack, including Google Ads, GA4, Campaign Monitor, and WordPress. Test new tools and AI to work smarter and get better results and make sure brand standards are applied consistently across every digital channel.
Content & Campaigns
  • Multi-Channel Campaign Execution: Lead integrated campaigns from brief to launch across social media, email, web, and collateral, partnering with Marketing, Sales, Product Development, and Design.
  • Agency & Freelance Partners: Brief and manage external agency and freelance partners when engaged, setting priorities, timelines, and scope, and giving clear feedback to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
  • Content Creation: Develop copy and creative for project spotlights, emails, social posts, and other customer-facing touchpoints that showcase Earthscape’s custom builds, design philosophy, and craftsmanship.
  • Launches & Key Initiatives: Plan and deliver the marketing materials, sales tools, and digital communications behind major product launches, strategic business initiatives, and industry events.
  • Campaign Ideation: Bring fresh creative ideas and new content formats to campaign planning to shape upcoming brand moments.
  • Event & Conference Content: Own event content, developing targeted communications, and pre- and post-event digital campaigns.
What we’re looking for:
  • 7+ years of hands‑on experience in digital and content marketing, including owning multi-channel campaigns and channel performance, backed by a degree or diploma in marketing, communications, or equivalent real‑world experience.
  • Proven experience managing a marketing budget, and briefing and managing external agencies, freelancers, or vendors.
  • A track record of building a digital or content plan and holding yourself accountable to KPIs such as web traffic, leads, and engagement.
  • Confident presenting results and recommendations to senior leaders and aligning stakeholders around a plan.
  • Hands‑on experience publishing and managing content natively in LinkedIn and Instagram and running paid search campaigns on Google Ads.
  • Experience with Campaign Monitor or a similar email marketing platform (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, Constant Contact), including list management and CASL‑compliant email practices. CRM experience (we use Copper) is an asset.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Photoshop and InDesign) and strong proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive), as we are a Google Workspace company. Hands‑on experience managing a WordPress website; basic HTML/CSS is an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, and native LinkedIn and Instagram insights, using data to track performance.
  • A self‑starting, entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of taking initiative, anticipating needs, and driving projects from idea to finished deliverable.
  • Comfortable balancing independent execution with cross‑functional collaboration, thriving in a nimble, fast‑paced environment where priorities can shift.
  • A portfolio or examples of digital campaigns with measurable results.
  • Experience in B2B, construction, architecture, or design‑related industries is an asset.
  • Genuine passion for our mission to bring play to the world.
