Job description

Investigation and Enforcement Services (IES) directorate aims to deliver and promote a range of investigation and enforcement activities, both civil and criminal in nature, to support fair and open markets. We do this by effectively enforcing the statutory company and insolvency regimes, maintaining public confidence in those regimes, and reducing the harm caused to victims of fraudulent activity and to the business community.

The post is in the Forensic Computer Unit (FCU) which is part of the IES directorate. IES aims to deliver and promote a range of investigation and enforcement activities both civil and criminal in nature, to support fair and open markets. We do this by effectively enforcing the statutory company and insolvency regimes, maintaining public confidence in those regimes and reducing the harm caused to victims of fraudulent activity and to the business community.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Insolvency Service as an experienced Digital Forensic Coordinator to help deliver our aim to tackle financial wrongdoing. You will be working to deliver investigative support to assist in meeting our three core objectives to: tackle economic crime facilitated through companies, enforce the UK’s insolvency framework and enforce the Companies Acts and associated legislation.

The role of the Digital Forensic Coordinator is a strategic move to enhance the efficiency of civil and criminal investigations in the digital age. This role acts as a vital conduit between the Forensic Computing Unit (FCU) and the Investigative teams, ensuring that the complex data acquired by the FCU is effectively integrated into Investigative processes. The Digital Forensic Coordinator expertise in navigating the intricacies of digital evidence will not only further investigations but also ensure that the digital forensic examination provided by FCU practitioners is leveraged to its fullest potential. By focusing on the interpretation and application of digital data, the Digital Forensic Coordinator empowers Investigators with the specialised knowledge required to keep pace with the evolving landscape of digital forensics and eDiscovery.
