Position Overview

Are you passionate about digital communications and investor education? The BCSC is seeking a Digital Communications Coordinator to support and enhance our digital initiatives that inform and empower British Columbians about investment markets and financial literacy.

As a key member of the Investor Education team, you will help drive engaging digital campaigns, manage content across platforms, and use analytics to optimize performance. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to meaningful public education efforts while working in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of engaging, dynamic digital content, including short and long-form videos, social, and static content
  • Deploy and report on BCSC’s investor education organic and paid digital investor education communications campaigns
  • Oversee Search Engine Optimization and online marketing activities for InvestRight.org
  • Maintain and suggest new content for the BCSC’s investor education social media channels and website through testing, surveying, research, and stakeholder engagement
  • Work with the team on new content development and strategic content promotion for the BCSC’s digital channels
  • Ensure online communications and marketing initiatives align with the investor education digital communications and operating plans
  • Oversee adherence of investor education digital programming to the BCSC’s social media and privacy policies
  • Provide additional general communications support.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant subject (communications, digital marketing, or journalism, etc.) and a minimum of two years of experience in digital communications or digital marketing role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Completion of a Google Analytics certification or sufficient experience working with analytics
  • Completion of relevant digital advertising certifications, or sufficient experience in digital advertising (Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok etc.)
  • Experience with content management systems (WordPress), HTML, Hootsuite, social media advertising platforms, Adobe Creative Suite applications, and Microsoft Office
  • Financial services industry experience or Canadian Securities Course completion considered an asset.

The successful candidate is also willing to occasionally work outside of BCSC’s operating hours to accommodate outreach and events.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $57,150 (minimum) - $71,439 (midpoint) - $85,727 (maximum).

The starting salary for this position will be determined considering the successful candidate’s relevant experience and education, salaries of other employees in the same salary range, market conditions, and other relevant factors. Starting salaries are normally below the salary band midpoint.
