The Care Group ("TCG") offers high‑quality complex care services across our nine (9) homes in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Temporary Dietitian to join our Madison Care Centre & Lakeshore Care Centre Team for 6 months!

Shift: 15 hours / week.

Primary Duties and Key Responsibilities
  • Interview each resident within the first two weeks of admission, then annually, or as required to determine preferences, allergies and therapeutic requirements.
  • Develop therapeutic and special diets according to resident requirements.
  • Include documentation of resident interviews and annual assessments in residents' PointClickCare charts.
  • Inform the care team and chef/kitchen of any special requirements or changes to residents' nutritional status.
  • Provide written documentation for the inter-disciplinary care planning meetings / care conferences and attend when requested.
  • Contribute to the care plan for each resident, documenting dietary needs and requirements.
  • Provide documentation on the quarterly MDS assessment for each resident.
  • Represent the interests of the facility when communicating with health care professionals, community workers, staff, families, visitors, and volunteers.
  • Develop seasonal menus that meet the nutritional requirements of the Canadian Food Guide.
  • Create and maintain an emergency food supply list for each care home based on number of residents and staff.
  • Provide educational support and in‑services to care team as needed to ensure that best practice is followed.
  • Regularly audit food service and food preparation.
  • Attend leadership meetings.
  • Other managerial duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Dietetics and completion of a Dietetic Internship.
  • A Registered Dietitian under the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
  • Minimum of one year's experience in the food service field and at least six months in an long‑term care facility.
About us

The Madison Care Centre is centrally located steps from Como Lake in Coquitlam. It offers licensed and funded residential care to 137 clients, 96 of which are funded through the Fraser Health Authority. The beds are primarily single or double rooms. The building was beautifully constructed and opened in 2008. The Madison Care Centre works in collaboration with the Fraser Health Authority to offer funded beds, but private‑pay rooms are also available.

Lakeshore Care Centre is centrally located in the Como Lake community of Coquitlam, B.C. with 56 licensed residential care beds; 35 valued through Fraser Health subsidized care and 21 private‑pay. The beds are primarily single occupancy, with limited double occupancy. The home is conveniently one story and has large outdoor patios where many activities are held throughout the spring and summer months.
