North York General Hospital is seeking a Dietetic Attendant for the Seniors’ Health Centre, Food Services. The role involves portioning food, cleaning dishes, and maintaining sanitation. Strong communication and knowledge of food safety are required; hospital setting supports teaching and learning within a health-care environment.

The position is part-time unscheduled with 8-hour shifts, days/evenings, including weekends. A competitive benefits package includes a hospital pension plan.

Position Summary

Dietetic Attendant, Seniors’ Health Centre, Food Services

Your goal in this position is to portion food, collect and clean dishes/ pots and clean kitchen equipment and food service work areas. You are able to communicate effectively through speaking, reading and writing. You have a strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation of food service equipment. You are able to work independently and as a team, you communicate effectively with colleagues, staff and residents. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers learners, patients and families.

On a practical level, you will

Qualifications

• Public Health Food Handler’s Certificate, Mandatory
• Food Service Worker Certificate, Mandatory
• Successful candidates must either have a current Vulnerable Sector Check within six (6) months or obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to their start date
• Strong customer service background
