Job summary

S&R Seniors Living is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide (Server) to assist in the Food Services department. Compensation starts from CAD 19.12 per hour with flexible shifts and a focus on resident wellbeing.

Responsibilities include greeting residents, presenting menus, serving meals, and helping with dining room setup and cleaning. Benefits include health coverage where eligible and opportunities for growth within our community.

Qualifications

  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Greet Residents, present menus, and assist with choices in a courteous manner.
  • Serve nutritious meals and support a home-like dining experience.
  • Set up and clear the dining room and assist with kitchen cleaning.
  • Wash dishes and maintain kitchen sanitation; assist with food prep as assigned.
  • Support team as needed to ensure smooth service and resident satisfaction.

At our Seniors Living homes, we pride ourselves on creating a warm and welcoming culinary atmosphere with fantastic food. If you were working for us as a Dietary Aide, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

  • Greeted Residents, Presented menus, made recommendations, and answered questions in a courteous and professional manner
  • Connected with some of your favourite Residents to see how their day was or if they were looking forward to any events as you sat them down at their table
  • Experienced the joy of making a positive impact by serving nutritious, comforting meals to Residents
  • Participated in establishing and maintaining a home-like environment, including the dining experience
  • Participated in a special recreation event like a cupcake tasting competition for the Residents, or summer barbeque for the Home
  • Set up and cleared the dining room
  • Washed dishes, cleaned and sanitized the kitchen area
  • Assisted with food preparation as assigned
  • And supported your team as needed.

To be hired into this role, you must have:

  • Food Handlers Certificate
