Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Dietary Aide to contribute to the residents’ well-being in a Long Term Care setting. You will support compassionate dining services, prepare and serve meals, and help maintain a clean, safe environment that respects each resident’s life story and preferences.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to dietary plans, and excellent communication with residents and staff, with a wage leveling rate of pay of 25.82 CAD/hour pending collective agreement adjustments.

Qualifications

• Valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Compassionate support helping seniors live life to the fullest.
• Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality is an asset.
• Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent but not required.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aideyou will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

• Food Preparation & Food Handling
• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
