Job summary

AgeCare Gibson is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with meal preparation and serving in a resident-centered environment. This role involves setting up, delivering tray service, and helping maintain a clean dining and kitchen area on a temporary part-time basis.

Applicants should have a Food Handler’s Certificate and experience in food service for seniors. A current Vulnerable Sector Check is required or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Previous experience in food service with seniors is preferred.
• Must possess or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items, and stand/walk for majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
• Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willing to obtain one).

The Opportunity:

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals and ensuring that work areas are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.

What You Will Do:

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.

What You Will Need:

• Must possess a Food Handler’s Certificate

• Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors.

• Must possess or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.

• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items, and stand/walk for majority of shift.

• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.

• Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a criminal background check) or willing to obtain one.
