Job Information

The Dietary Aide works as a key member of the dietary team, providing high-quality meal service to residents of an 18-bed long-term care facility and fulfilling special meal requests from within the Health Authority. The incumbent assists in preparing and serving safe, nutritious, and appealing meals that meet the dietary needs of residents at the Elder Care Home. Working under the direction of the Head or Assistant Cook, the Dietary Aide supports the overall food service operation, helping to ensure that all residents receive a healthy, balanced, and enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains adherence to standardized recipes and approved portioning procedures.
  • Incorporates the use of traditional foods to meet the cultural needs of residents.
  • Ensures that all products are stored, labeled, and dated in accordance with safe food handling practices.
  • Follows policies and procedures related to sanitation and food safety.
  • Supports the ongoing cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.

To be considered for this role, you must have the completion of a Red Seal Trades certificate or 2-4 years¿ experience working in an institutional food services environment.
