Job summary

Job Description

Dietary Aide – Casual/on‑call position

Responsibilities
  • Assists cook with coordination of food preparation and service in the kitchen.
  • Assists cook with preparation of sufficient amounts of food for residents, guests and catered functions according to established menu rotation.
  • Stores perishable food and avoids waste as per established guidelines.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment, carts, pans, pots, dishes, serving areas, tables and trays.
  • Operates basic equipment including the dishwasher.
  • Ensures cleanliness of cooking equipment as well as work area through established cleaning and sanitation practices.

The successful applicant will preferably have a High School education or equivalent, completion of WHMIS, food handling and safety training required, CPR, and First Aid.

This is a casual/relief position with no set schedule or hours. Shifts could be anytime from 9am – 6:30pm on any day of the week.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $18.36 to $19.19 with a maximum of $20.02.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
