DaVita is hiring a Dialysis Nurse (RN) to give life at our Dover Dialysis in Dover, Ohio. Paid training is provided.
Schedule
M/W/F: 3:00am – 8:00pm, T/TH/S: 3:00am – 6:00pm, including every other Saturday.
Responsibilities and Duties
- 30% Supervises and performs direct patient care including taking and monitoring vital signs, initiation and termination of dialysis, documentation, physical assessment of patients and patient treatments, taking and transcription of physician’s orders, drawing and documentation of ordered laboratory work.
- 20% Provides dialysis therapy, including but not limited to formulating dialysis plan per physician orders, weight and rate of ultrafiltration, verifying safety measures are in place and complied with, administering medications or other appropriate treatments, discontinuing dialysis according to established procedure, documenting all activity appropriately.
- 20% Analyzes patient assessments, laboratory data, and, when concerns are noted, brings issues to the attention of the physician. Notes signs of trauma, patients’ general physical and mental condition, reviews dialysis orders, documents observations in patient medical records, communicates all emergencies and patient life‑threatening complications to supervisor and relevant leaders.
- 15% Assesses patient and family learning readiness and provides appropriate information on renal disease, prescribed dialysis treatment, and medical regimen. Participates in the development and implementation of the patient’s short‑ and long‑term plan of care and monthly progress note.
- Remaining 15% Includes additional administrative duties, team collaboration, quality improvement initiatives, and other responsibilities as assigned by the Medical Director.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Three‑year diploma from an accredited program may be substituted.
- Minimum one year of licensed RN experience.
- Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical‑Surgical (Med‑Surg) settings is desirable but not required.
- Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) certification is an advantage.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a drug screen and a background check.
