Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) is seeking a locum Emergency Trauma Radiologist to join a dynamic group of 40 academic Radiologists providing general and subspecialty diagnostic and interventional radiological services to VGH and the University of British Columbia Hospital, both integral parts of the University of British Columbia (UBC) hospital system.
Our ER/TRAUMA section is one of the largest and most advanced academic Emergency Radiology groups in North America, and operates 24/7/365 from our reading room, which is centrally located within Vancouver General Hospital Emergency Department (ED). Our department is fully digital with state-of-the-art equipment such as our third generation dual-source/dual-energy CT. All the members of our department are expected to engage fully in both the clinical and non-clinical activities of the section, including providing substantial contributions in research, education, and/or sectional administration. Teaching requirements include training a bright group of Residents and Emergency Radiology Fellows annually. We value our excellent collaborations with Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Trauma, Cardiology, Stroke and Critical care services along with our other radiology department subspecialty sections.
The successful candidates will enjoy a challenging practice including CT, US, MRI and General Radiography in a PACS environment within VGH and UBC Hospitals. The remuneration and vacation arrangements are competitive for this geographic region.
All candidates must hold an MD degree (or equivalent), have completed Fellowship training in Emergency Trauma Radiology, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia. All applicants must also be currently certified by, or eligible for certification by, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The successful applicant will be located at Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital.
University appointment at UBC will also be granted commensurate with previous academic experience.
